The export quota of magnesia talc in our province has increased substantially

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce issued the List of Bidding Enterprises Winning the Second Export Quota Bidding of Magnesia and Talc in 2013 and its Quota Table. 159 magnesia exporting enterprises in our province won the bid, with a total export quota of 1.54 million tons of magnesia, an increase of 26.5% over the same period of last year; 22 talc exporting enterprises obtained export quota of 290,000 tons of talc, an increase of 8.8% over the same period of last year.


There are abundant reserves of magnesia talc in our province. In 2012, our province exported 488 million US dollars of magnesia and 168 million US dollars of talc, ranking first in the country. Since this year, the international magnesia market has been depressed and the talc market has been stable. In the first half of this year, the magnesia export of our province was 183 million US dollars, down 22.11% from the same period last year, while the talc export was 333 million US dollars, up 10.91% from the same period last year. In the bidding process of magnesia talc export, the enterprises of our province actively participated and dared to go out, and the number of successful bidders increased significantly, which shows that the enterprises of our province have a positive expectation of the revival of the international magnesia market in the second half of the year, and is conducive to expanding the export scale.
